Metin2 Catch the King: where the 5s are and what to reveal

In the Catch the King minigame the 5×5 board holds 25 face-down cards: seven 1s, four 2s, five 3s, five 4s, three 5s and the king. You play 1,1,1,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,5,K in order. A higher card collects the cell and keeps playing, an equal one collects and is used up, and a lower one is lost with no points. A cell flashes when a 5 is next to it, and your 5 played on a flashing cell gets caught.

Entering cards is instant: hover a cell and press the number of the revealed card (with Shift if the cell flashed). From the flashes it computes the exact chance of a 5 on every cell, then plays thousands of simulations to the end for each move and suggests the one with the best chance of the Golden King’s Loot (550 pts) or the Silver one (400 pts).

How to use it

  1. Choose your goal: silver (400 pts) or golden loot (550 pts).
  2. Reveal the cell the helper suggests in the game.
  3. Hover that cell and press the number of the revealed card (1–5 or K), with Shift if it flashed.
  4. Collect revealed cards with a click or Enter and repeat until the K card.

FAQ

How many points for the Golden King’s Loot?

Golden loot needs at least 550 pts, silver 400–549, bronze from 10 pts. A card gives 10 pts per pip, the king 100 pts, and a full row, column or diagonal adds another 10 pts.

What does a flashing cell mean?

A cell flashes when one of its 8 neighbours is a 5. No flash rules out 5s around the cell, a flash means at least one is there. The helper combines all flashes and computes exact odds.

When should I play my 5?

Your 5 collects everything that is not next to another 5 and keeps going. That is why the earlier cards are for finding the 5s and the king; during the 5 turn the helper marks safe cells with ✓.
